We, in the DCC IPT, are focused on weapons and surveillance equipment for the close battle, which is often fought in very demanding and hostile environments and where the dismounted soldier is required to close with and defeat the enemy at close quarters.

Our mission is to - efficiently procure weapons, ammunition and surveillance systems to meet the operational requirements of the Armed Forces (including Special Forces) for Dismounted Close Combat in the most cost effective manner. The manner needs to be smart; one which strives to procure equipment cheaper, faster and better than before.

Initially the DCC IPT web site will be focused around the FIST (Future Integrated Soldier Technology) project, but it is anticipated other projects within the IPT will make use of the web-site as their Internet needs develop.

The DCC IPT web site represents one of many initiatives being developed by the IPT under the auspices of Smart Procurement. The intention is for the web-site be a quick and efficient way of communication between MOD and industry. We hope you find the site useful, and look forward to meeting you in the future.
