Welcome
to DCC2-FIST Homepage
In
1994, the UK Ministry of Defence established a tri-Service dismounted
soldier programme initially called the "Future Fighting Soldier
System" (FFSS) and now called "Future Integrated Soldier Technology"
(FIST).
The FIST programme,
working in conjunction with other legacy programmes, will significantly
enhance the rifle section's mission effectiveness in dismounted
close combat.
From its early
days, the FIST programme has adopted a well-founded, systems engineering
approach, to ensure a firm foundation to de-risk the assessment
and follow-on procurement phases. This approach included user involvement
and feedback right from the beginning.
